“House of Cards” by BTS

My favorite song is “House of Cards” by BTS because it’s more of a symbolic song. It represents some level of toxicity in humanity where we stay in situations that are harmful, just because it’s to our comfort level. The first time I heard this song was back in 10th grade. My original feel was more of understanding and it was similar to having an epiphany where you understand why certain things happen. My personal experience was more of a situation in my life where I was going through a lot, it was filled with sadness and tragedies then happiness. These emotions tend to surface with the song but I am more accepting of them now. I’m accepting of these emotions in an ‘Ok I went through it I can’t be sad any longer I had my time of mourning and I can’t get dragged into that dark place.’

“If I Killed Someone For You” by Alec Benjamin

“If I killed someone for you” by Alec Benjamin. The whole idea behind it. In the song, someone is asking the girl that they love that if they changed for them would they love them more than they do now. I guess that whole idea just relates and impacts me more than any other song right now. I heard it about two months ago during the OC Fair. At first, I was like this song is a little different than what I usually listen too. I usually listen to rap and hip hop, so when I first heard it I thought it was an alright song. But the more I listen to it, it started growing on me. You can say I started singing it more in my head and in public, simple stuff like that. It relates to me and what I do. I’m currently in a relationship and I always wonder if I do change these certain things about me would it actually mean anything at all to the relationship or not.

“Twinz” by Big Pun

My favorite song is “Twinz” by Big Pun. I like the New York vibe. I grew up in New York for a year and then I came over here to California. The culture the song has back in New York it’s just cool it’s a classic. The first time I heard this song was when my brother turned 14, I heard him play the song at the house, on his phone and it just sounded so cool and I still listen to it right now. The vibe you get from the song, the beat, and everything, you can feel it and it feels really good. I haven’t been to New York for a long time but just hearing the song, it takes me back. It feels like the 90’s early 80’s. Most of my family got to grow up in New York and I didn’t.  I like New York, I like representing it. I don’t know why but the whole hip hop era,it’s beginning and in the early 90s and 2000s. It’s just cool, history is awesome.

“Homecoming” by Kanye West

“Homecoming” by Kanye West, just the melody and how he sings I just enjoy it in general. When I was about 12, my brother brought me into rap and hip hop and I started enjoying it from them. Just hearing my brother listening to it. He just tells a story with the song, he’s just not just trying to rhyme, there is a story behind it. To me, you should look back at where you came from the city and how it shaped you. I could relate to it and it’s a smooth rhythm, it calms you down. A city can shape you and if you succeed, then you shouldn’t forget where you came from, you know. Santa Ana shaped me in away. In the future, I want to be a police officer. You see all these crimes that are going on, right? It pushes you to want to change it. Now I feel that I could try harder in school to achieve my dreams and look back where I was.

“Sogno Romantico” by Silvio d’Anza

It’s one of the best romantic songs I have ever heard in my life. It’s just the tone and the melody of the song it’s really fantastic the way he sings together during the song I like it I can tell he is really being sincere when he’s singing that song. I was in Germany on a trip to take care of some business at a friend’s house, she had an album by Silvio and had right there, she wanted to know to listen to it and I said, yeah ok. She played it and I said that was the best song that I ever heard. That was about 1995 so that’s my favorite song easily. It’s really pleasant, it’s kicking back on the deck of your swimming pool in the summer with a little bit of shade, you have a nice drink it’s very relaxing, very mellow, you get carried into it. You get carried into the song because it’s all Italian lyrics you have to know what the guy’s saying if you want to get the full benefit of that song. My feelings are of good times when I first heard that song and unfortunately in the United States it’s hard to get that song so I’m going to buy a vinyl. If I’m going to get that song at all that’s the only way I’m going to get it.
