As record stores began to reopen during spring 2021, el Don staff reporter Giselle Roldan visited a few, interviewed their owners, photographed their customers and wrote an excellent article featuring quotes from everyone. After conducting Info Needs Assessments earlier in the semester, we discovered that Instagram is the main source of lifestyle information for our audience so we focused our dedicated efforts on promoting this article through that platform.
Below is our Instagram Feed post and a video of the Instagram Stories posts promoting this story. Each was created custom for the medium itself and uses best visual storytelling practices for static gallery feed posts and Instagram Stories. Both the post and Stories reached a total of 1,500 accounts and were shared over 100 times. The article was viewed nearly 1,000 times and was shared by every record store featured as well as by several local musicians and media makers.
