Simple sacrifice: Meatless Mondays

HEALTH:

No matter your diet, you should eat less meat. Why not start by adding Meatless Mondays to your routine?

Americans will consume about 52 billion pounds of meat this year, reports the Earth Policy Institute. Oil, grain, water and farmland use in meat production make it a top contributor to global warming, a U.N. study found.

Medical experts have also linked the consuming of red meat to an increase of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

One meatless day a week is an easy step towards a healthy life and a clean planet.
