Funny Man Cares About Education

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane teamed up with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and author Ann Druyan to remake the classic Carl Sagan TV special Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.

MacFarlane showed his passion for science and space by purchasing Sagan’s journals then making them free to the public. He is also executive producer of the rebooted series.

In a post-NASA world, where India has spent less sending a spacecraft to Mars than the production of the feature film Gravity, it’s hard not to admire MacFarlane’s mission to reinforce science at a time where it seems ignored.
