Twitter Racism Sparks Outrage

Nina Davuluri was the first Indian-American to be crowned Miss America, but numerous Twitter comments denied her American identity. One tweet declared, “Miss America is a terrorist.”

The New York-native earned her bachelor’s degree and wants to go to medical school. Her story as a citizen is not typical, it is exemplary.

Being American is not determined by the color of your skin but by your contributions to society, making Davuluri more American than any racist on Twitter.
