By Alex Robles

Arizona rock band The Maine will close out a free, 14-state tour Oct. 2 at The District in Tustin.

Band members wanted to show appreciation for the fans that have supported them since 2007 and to reach out to new fans.

The group has had some commercial success, winning Alternative Press’ Best Live Band nod in 2010, and their 2010 album Black & White debuted No.16 on the Billboard 200.

The Maine is touring with alternative-pop four-piece band Beach Weather. The free tour started on Aug. 30 in Nevada.

The California leg started Sept. 28 at the Quartyard in San Diego.
