Santa Ana College women’s soccer unfortunately mark their second loss of the season. They played a strong defense and hustled in offense on Tuesday’s game against the Santiago Canyon College and now hold a 5-2 record  in the Orange Empire Conference.

The Hawks shot the first goal of this game during the first half. The Dons hustled the rest of the first half holding the Hawks to one goal.

Dons player Hope Alvarez scored their long anticipated goal during the second half in the 70th minute mark. Tying the game 1-1, Dons kept Hawks from scoring with many saves by goalkeeper Breana Martinez.

With just three minutes left in the game, Hawks managed to score their second goal of the game making the overall score 2-1. Dons were then defeated by SCC.

Though Dons didn’t celebrate another win, their team hustle and efforts did not go unnoticed. Coach Jaymie Baquero comments about having key players “I don’t like to point out one or two because this is a team port, they all have to step up.”

Don’s Karina Quintero, midfielder, comments on her feelings about the overall game against Santiago Canyon College “We’ve not scored on SCC in a long time so the fact that we actually scored on them is a good feeling.” She opened up about using her frustration she has towards the next game against SCC which will help her do better and go harder.

Dons play their next game against El Camino College on Friday, September 22 at 1pm.
