Long Beach City College freshman guard Chris Spencer’s one-handed slam dooms the Dons late in the second half, losing 87-79 in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs at Long Beach.

Spencer had two-second half dunks that electrolyzed the Viking’s bench and put an end to two separate 6-2 point runs from the Dons. He scored 11 second half points going 5-6 from the field and hauling in seven rebounds with two assist and two blocks.

Dons freshman guard DuJuan Williams led the way in scoring for the Santa Ana College with 26 points. Shooting 7-18 from the field including 5-9 in three-point shots, also going 7-7 from the free throw line and grabbing four rebounds.

SAC struggled on offense living and dying from the three-point line, shooting 13-36 more than half of their 64 total field goal attempts in the game and two more than their 34 total free-throw attempts.

The Dons ended the year with a 16-10 overall record, 10-2 in Orange Empire Conference play. With the first round playoff exit, SAC has now lost two consecutive first round playoff games, losing to Irvine Valley College last year 69-55 at IVC.
