Three runners qualify for state

WOMEN CROSS COUNTRY.

Cross-country runners Alicia Sotelo, Queztalin Tepayotl and Cecilia Chavez qualified for the Nov. 17 State Championships in Fresno.

“Only the top 25 of 200 runners at the So Cal Regional qualify,” Head Coach Miriam Mitzel said.

The team missed qualifying by six points, Mitzel added.

Chavez and Tepayotl are both freshmen who plan on building off of this season’s gains.

“We will have more success next year. Alicia is the only sophomore of our top five runners,” Mitzel said.
