Edna Tobias elected ASG President

With slightly more than one percent of the student body voting, Santa Ana College elected a new Associated Student Government President-elect in Edna Tobias.

Only 310 out of SAC’s roughly 30,000 students voted March 28 and 29 for the 2011-2012 ASG general election. Tobias received 123 votes, and ASG Vice President-elect Adrian Watkins received 131 votes.

Presidential candidate Jackie Madriz finished in second place with 73 votes and Marycruz Gallardo came in second for vice president with 96 votes.

ASG Treasurer Joe Ricker and ASG Senator of Human and Social Science Frank Luna who both ran unopposed received plurality, meaning they won with more than half the votes.
