Apple stayed true to form. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus look no different than the original, but the real change is on the inside.

The new models include an A9 chip, a 64-bit chip designed for faster processing speed than the A8 chip, which increases battery life.

The biggest innovation, Apple revealed, is 3D Touch, a feature that revolutionizes navigation between apps, mail, messages and other content. The Peek and Pop system created by 3D Touch allows users to peek into any content, like messages, by lightly pressing on the screen. Press harder on the content and the app will open without exiting into the home screen.

The iSight Camera has a 12-megapixel sensor, leading to the highest-quality photos produced by an iPhone. It also supports 4K video recording. For selfie enthusiasts, the front-facing camera has also been improved with a 5-megapixel sensor and Retina Flash, which uses the retina display combined with True Tone lighting to triple the brightness of the screen.

Live Photos, a new feature that combines 3D Touch and the camera, captures the moments before and after a photo is taken to create a short video clip when you press lightly on a photo.

Apple even added a new color to the line. Rose gold is now available alongside gold, silver and space gray. Prices start at $649.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus begin Sept. 12 and they will hit store shelves Sept. 25.
