el Don NewsStudent leaders dangled free book vouchers and food Wednesday in the second Welcome Back Event to attract new members to Associated Student Government.
“Most of our recruited members from last year came from this event,” Tobias said of the Welcome Back Event that raffled off 20 $150 textbook vouchers and provided hot dogs and sodas while they lasted.
ASG President Edna Tobias welcomed students back and provided information on joining the group that develops leadership and networking skills.
The group that models its government after the U.S. is looking to fill vacancies in all branches.
“By tomorrow we should have a good number of applicants to interview for various positions,” said ASG Vice President Adrian Watkins as he passed out applications to students in line.
Interviews will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Thursday in room U-106.
