Dons lose first home game

WOMEN SOCCER:
SAC Dons vs. Southwestern Jaguar

GAME DATE: Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Despite struggling with numerous offside penalties, visiting Southwestern College escaped with a 2-1 victory Wednesday against the Dons women’s soccer team.

“We were called back a lot, so we need to improve our timing,” Head Coach Karyna Figuero of Southwestern College said.

Jaguars Midfielder Uilani Himan scored the first goal of the game, converting an assisted by Forward Leslie Ramos.

Defender Alyssa Gonzalez netted the Jaguars second goal, after the Dons’ defense failed to clear the ball from the box.

Forward Kristina Alatore scored the Dons’ only goal of the game in the 79 minute, assisted by Midfielder Marisol Quintero.

“Our strategy is to get better and better after every game,” Co-Head Coach Jose Vasquez said.

The Dons’ play next at home Friday vs. Canyons College at 4 p.m.
