Wood Twins transfer to UC Riverside

Wood Sisters Dominate OEC/Nikki Nelsen/ el don

Dons duo, Leyna, and Lauryn Wood will continue their soccer journey at the University of California Riverside. The twin sisters helped Santa Ana College make the playoffs for the first time since 2009 and were eliminated in the SoCal Regionals to Santiago Canyon College. Leyna Wood received the conference MVP by leading the conference in goals scored with 24 and her sister Lauryn made conference first team. The presence of having both players on the field had a big impact on the team. “ Having her [Lauryn] on the field is like having my other half out there, and there are some days where I honestly can’t play without her”, said Leyna. The Wood sisters look to continue their success, now playing division one soccer at UCR.
