The award recognizes the academic achievements of student athletes while representing their college.

Tyler Cordell, who was named Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, led the group with a 4.0 GPA, followed by Nate Cox, Woody Quinn, Reece Buckles and Ian Millar.

Four of the five will receive academic scholarships to four-year universities. Millar returns as a sophomore this season.

Having athletes that can perform on the field and in the classroom are the best type of athletes there are because of their high level of focus and discipline.
