Visiting Grossmont College wins in straight sets

WOMEN’s VOLLEYBALL.

Visiting Grossmont College pummeled Santa Ana College’s women’s volleyball team on Wednesday defeating the Dons in straight sets.

Grossmont has not dropped a set in the last three matches.

Early in the first two sets the Dons strung together late comebacks only to lose each of the sets 25-20 and 25-21.

The No. 5 Griffins (9-1) won the third set 25-18.

“We were inconsistent. We made a lot of unforced errors when we got to the 20 point mark,” said Head Coach Troy Abbey. “We kind of gave those games away.”

The Dons’ next match is at 6 p.m. Friday at Irvine Valley College.
