Hands On Experience

German-Auto

By Emilio Rodriguez

The automotive department is considering a sponsorship program with the German government.

Members from the two parties met in April.

The sponsorship involves apprenticeships with local German car dealers, which would provide students with practical job experience.

“I think it’s great, it gives us more opportunities,” said automotive student Chris Campbell.

Representatives, including a member of the German parliament, toured the Santa Ana College automotive building.

“We want to retrofit one of the rooms in the building for the German program,” said Glen Hammond, chair of the automotive technology department.

SAC already has sponsorships with local German dealerships. These include Crevier BMW, Fletcher Jones Mercedes and Shelly BMW.
