SAC Professor Dies Suddenly

Described by many as a caring teacher, Michael Kelcher, 49, a Santa Ana College chemistry professor, died Oct. 6 of a heart attack.

Mr. Kelcher, who was an instructor at SAC for 20 years, was both a member of the Academic Senate and the Faculty Association.

“Mike will be remembered … most of all for his love of students and learning,” College President Erlinda Martinez said in an email.

The Academic Senate has set up a college fund for his 8-year-old son.
