Bring your appetites and generosity for today is coined IHOP National Pancake day.
For one whole day, IHOP is pumpin’ out the pancakes free, to benefit The Children’s Miracle Network around the nation. Local IHOPs will be flippin’ flapjacks all day and no short stack is too small an order.
With the support of The Miss America Organization, local reigning beauty queens will be out at IHOPs supporting the cause and thanking customers for their charitable donations. They will also be decorating pancakes with the little ones.
“We get the opportunity to raise funds for this great organization and pancakes are a fantastic way to do so,” said Katie Wayland reigning Miss Orange County.
As of September 30, 2011, there are over 1500 IHOP restaurants located in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
All of these IHOPs, for one day, will be donating earnings to local charities. In Orange County the charity of choice is The Children’s Hospital of Orange County, which is known for touching the lives of more children and their families than any other children’s charity.
“This day is special because you get a free short stack of pancakes, you get them for free at IHOP and all you are asked to do is make a donation to CHOC,” said Children’s Miracle Network Manager at CHOC, Breanna Weeks. “IHOP actually raises thousands of dollars today just for the kids.”
IHOPs will attempt to raise $2.7 million this year to benefit The Children’s Miracle Network. The kids who CHOC helps aren’t in faraway countries or from opposite sides of the nations—they’re in your community. So loosen that belt buckle, step out for a good cause and make it a family affair.
