Business owners are worried about plans to widen Bristol Street on the east side of campus.

Expansion will cut through properties, whose owners want to stay.

“We are trying to work with the city to create a plan that accommodates everyone,” said Jeronimo Chavez, a local real estate agent.

He turned down the city’s “lowballed” offer of less than $500,000 for his property.

Proposed changes will add four more lanes, bike lanes and landscaped parkways.
