Treatable Illness Remains an Issue

Cases of measles and whooping cough have surged in California this year with infections reaching Orange County, according to the OC Health Care Agency.

These diseases are preventable with vaccination, but myths about side-effects like autism are still believed by as many as half of all Americans.

Vaccines are tools that have gone through rigorous medical testing and scrutiny before being made available to the public. Without full cooperation from all residents capable of receiving shots, these diseases, once thought to be reaching extinction, will remain.
