The last 10 years creep up on Piper Chapman, when ex-lesbian lover Alex Vause rats her out as an ex-drug dealer. In Netflix’s latest original series Orange is the New Black, Chapman is tossed into prison for 15 months in upstate New York. She befriends fellow inmates, only to find out there’s no such thing. Funny, smart and sympathetic, the female prisoners show their lovable sides underneath their ugly shells.
