The Dons dropped three straight games after losing to the Gauchos 10-3 April 3 at home.

“I think this is our last loss,” Don’s first baseman Daniel Martinez said. “We’re going to bounce back as a team.”

Santa Ana College scored all three runs in the first three innings of the game but failed to register a run in the last six.

“We didn’t really come out with that same attitude that we usually approach these games, and it showed,” SAC Co-Head Coach Bryan Harris said.

The Dons scored its first run in the bottom of the first, as center fielder Ryan Aguilar got caught in a rundown between third and home before eluding Gauchos first basemen Mitchell Holland to reach the plate.

“Luckily I got around the tag. It usually doesn’t happen,” Aguilar said.

The Gauchos scored the final run of the game when infielder Dylan Diaz, smacked a home run in the seventh.

“It’s hard to score 10 runs against Santa Ana, they’re a good team” Saddleback Head Coach Sommer McCartney said.
