He Can Pitch But Sure Can’t Catch

Dons freshman pitcher Logan Roberts dropped the ball March 25.    Literally.

Roberts missed a routine toss back from catcher Cody Bistline that tipped the top of his glove. With nobody backing up the play, Orange Coast College outfielder Tommy Bell stole home, leading to a 5-4 win over the Dons.

“Fortunately for us, their catcher threw one away to the pitcher and that was the winning run,” Pirates Head Coach John Altobelli said.

The Dons stranded 11 runners in scoring position.
