el Don NewsOne of the world’s most influential female fashion designers, Diane von Furstenberg, born December 31, 1946, has remained relevant from the time she arrived in New York from Europe in 1969.
It wasn’t until 1970 that von Furstenberg, born in Belgium as Diane Simone Michelle Halfin, revealed her first collection at the Gotham Hotel in New York City. While making many contributions to the fashion industry, she is best known for bringing the wrap dress stateside.
Expanding her businesses, von Furstenberg added jewelry, furs, shoes, scarves and sunglasses to her collections. Later, her cosmetic line was launched, debuting her fragrance Tatiana, named after her daughter.
Von Furstenberg is now introducing her newest fragrance, self-titled Diane, to be sold in department stores across the nation. On her mall tour, Diane is stopping by Nordstrom’s at South Coast Plaza in Coasta Mesa on Oct. 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. You can purchase her fragrance and see von Furstenberg in person. The meet-and-greet is free and open to the public.
