If your morning started full of marshmallows and artificial goodness, or with stale, tasteless spoonfuls of soul-eating healthy cereals, everyone has a connection with the bowl and spoon breakfast food.
The modern cereal was invented by James Caleb Jackson in 1863, a rework of porridge, making it easier to consume.
About 2.7 billion boxes of cereal were sold annually and brought in $7.7 billion in sales last year, according to the Statistic Brain Research Institute last year.
Honey Nut Cheerios was the best selling cereal last year, according to market research firm Information Resources Inc.
