District Raises Parking Penalty

Parking fines increased for the first time in 20 years when citation costs more than doubled from $20 to $45 earlier this semester.

The district raised fees after a report revealed fines were lower than those at other schools. Fullerton and Cypress colleges both charge $37 for parking violations.

Extra revenue from the increase will fund safety and security services on campus, Vice Chancellor of Business Operations Peter Hardash said.
