Soldiers to Scholars Reception on 9/15

The Rancho Santiago Community College District will hold an event to raise funds for United States armed forces veterans returning to Orange County on Sept 15, 2011.

The Soldiers to Scholars Reception will be held at the Santa Ana College Orange County Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy, 15991 Armstrong Ave., Tustin, CA., 92782 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The event’s purpose is not only to raise money, but to also raise awareness for the vast array of services provide to veterans here at Santa Ana College.

Tickets are $50 per person, and $5,000 for corporate sponsorships. The event will include live music, complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, and other food and beverages.

The Veteran’s Resource Center at Santa Ana College will be a major selling point for the event. The VRC provides guidance, inspiration, and resources to returning soldiers who wish to further their education. Benefits include access to counselors and volunteers that work to maximize Veteran’s Assistance benefits, computers and printers, and customized orientations designed to get returning soldiers back on their feet.
