Both the men’s and women’s soccer teams kicked off this season with a good start. New players were recruited for both teams, and some previous players have returned to captain their teams to glory.
Women’s soccer, however, is mostly composed of new players coming from different neighboring high schools.
“Last year we were sophomore heavy, but this year we pretty much have a brand new team”, said women’s soccer head coach Jaymie Baquero. “With a brand new soccer team, many of the team members have already built great chemistry, as many of them were vocal all throughout warm-up practice.”

The women’s team is hopeful for their upcoming season, despite having a record of one win, fifteen losses and three draws last season. Many of them are putting in all the hard work to succeed this season. “I’m really hopeful that we can turn some of the results of last season around,” said coach Baquero.
The men’s soccer team is also coming off a spirited season with a mix of different players from last season and additions from the soccer program.
“We have a lot of freshmen, around 15-20, as well as 10 returning sophomores this year,” said men’s head coach Jose Vazquez.

Returning players like midfielder Ivan Torres have been tapped by Coach Vasquez to help pave the way for incoming freshman this 25/26 season.
The returning players are looking forward to putting a rocky last season behind them and securing some more wins this year.
“The results just didn’t go our way, so I’m really hopeful that we can turn around with this brand new team,” said Torres.
