Marvel Studios revealed a sneak peak for their 15th film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a sequel to one of their most successful films. Vol. 2 is scheduled to premiere May 5, 2017.

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, the film is being directed by James Gunn, produced by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

According to gamenguide.com, the film is set two months after the end of the first one. The Guardians of the Galaxy travel through the cosmos and struggle to keep their newfound family together while helping their so-called leader, Peter Quill/Star-Lord, learn more about his real father.

Most of the first film’s cast returns, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan. Also featured are Kurt Russell as Ego- a living planet who assumes a human disguise and is Quill’s father and Pom Klementieff as Mantis- a member of the Guardians with empathic powers who was raised by Ego.

The first film was surprisingly successful with great action, humor and a great musical soundtrack (known as Awesome Mix Vol. 1), with songs from artists like Blue Swede, David Bowie and The Jackson 5. There will also be an Awesome Mix Vol. 2 soundtrack to accompany the sequel according to comicbook.com.
