Gringo Spin

By C. Harold Pierce

Civic is one in a slew of cookie-cutter hipster joints shuffling into Santa Ana. The subpar “Good Food,” the restaurant’s slogan, gives Mexican classics a gringo spin.

The veggie quesadilla is stuffed with sundried tomatoes, arugula and feta cheese served with a side of pesto.

With a seating area a little larger than a broom closet, customers rub elbows for a space to sit. If the food remains the same, it shouldn’t stay a problem. Civic is at 1236 W. Civic Center Dr.
