VOGUE: Students will present their designs during the May 19 show.

Since 1985 Santa Ana College has presented its annual fashion show with models demonstrating the techniques of the garment industry and current fashion trends.

This year the event will take place at the Yost Theater on May 19, and will help raise money for the Fashion Club and the Fashion Department for the 2013-2014 year. It draws the local community and brings awareness of the Santa Ana Fashion Department. Local Santa Ana band Electro City and DJ Vertigo will provide music at the event and makeup and hair will be done by the Paul Mitchell School.

Students of the fashion department have organized the event, chosen outfits and sewed the outfits for each model.

“This year it will be all different styles representing the California counterculture such as rockers, street wear, girly and casual,” Fashion Club President Jenny Nguyen said.

The Fashion Department is introducing an Instagram contest along with the show: Take a photo of your personal stylized outfit and upload it. Tell them what pieces you used and what inspires you.
