USA Wrestling Team Member Hosts All-Girls Clinic at SAC

Victoria Anthony, a 2020 Olympic hopeful and No. 2 ranked wrestler at the 48kg class, hosted a wrestling clinic for more than 30 high school girls at Santa Ana College Sept. 28.

The clinic was for Orange County local high school girls wrestlers as they prepare for the high school wrestling season. A group of Santa Ana College students who want to create a women’s wrestling team organized the event and helped lead warm-ups.

Anthony has been part of the USA World Team for five consecutive years, the last two years as a second string. She wrestled at Marina High School in Huntington Beach and was the only girl to win the Boys CIF title.

Anthony was glad to give back to her community. “All of you guys are my motivation,” Anthony said. She travels all around California to promote girl’s wrestling.

All proceeds from the clinic went to helping students start a Dons women’s wrestling program. SAC has an unofficial women’s wrestling program and plans on having a competitive team in the near future.
