The Dons’ team physician was called to the majors last month.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim hired Michael Shepard as the team’s co-orthopedic surgeon. He will continue treating the Dons.

Shepard began working with the Dons in 2003 and also serves as the team physician for University of California, Irvine, Chapman University and Servite High School.

The doctor joins former Dons pitcher C.J. Wilson and Eric Cendejas, a pitcher for the Angels’ Salt Lake minor league affiliate.
