The battle between Angels owner Arte Moreno and city of Anaheim mayor Tom Tait rages on. But Moreno and his development team, Pacific Coast Investors, continue talks behind closed doors about a potential new home for the beloved baseball team.
While many discussions have centered around the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station, other potential sites have been scoped out in the City of Industry and undisclosed locations throughout Los Angeles County.
Moreno bought the Angels in 2003 when the team was hemorrhaging a reported $20 million a year. In a four-year period he changed that and has been turning a profit since then.
Local businesses support Moreno. But other locals have mixed feelings, considering factors such as noise and traffic along with the financial benefits.
Moreno has laid out what he wants for his team and it doesn’t seem like he is going to budge.
If Tait doesn’t want to play ball, the Angels might find a new place to play.
