A female student got an unwelcome passenger in her car Thursday morning on campus.
The student was waiting for a parking spot in the lot south of the football field at about 10:15 a.m. when a male suspect hopped into her passenger seat. She yelled at him to get out, but he resisted, according to Campus Safety.
“He was trying to bum a ride and took it a little too far,” Lt. James Wooley, district safety and security supervisor, said.
“Come on, don’t be that way. Let’s go to the beach,” the suspect told the student, according to Campus Safety officers.
Campus security videos show the suspect asking students heading to the parking lot for a lift.
When one of the students he harassed saw him hop into the female student’s car, he yelled at him to get out. The suspect left campus, heading north on College Avenue.
The suspect is described as a 5 foot 7 inch, dark skinned, slim built Latino with acne and black slicked back hair.
Santa Ana Police have increased patrols of the parking lots in response to the incident.
Campus safety is asking for students to lock their car doors while driving and to call their office at (714) 564-6330 if they see suspicious activities on campus.
