After opening the season with a home loss to the Bakersfield College Renegades, the Dons need to find an offensive identity if they want to compete in 2013.
“We have a lot of freshmen in key spots and we have almost a whole new coaching staff,” Santa Ana College Head Coach Geoff Jones said.
The Dons lost 24-9 after failing to find the end zone. Freshman Quarterback Mike Chislock completed 18 passes for 165 yards and threw two interceptions. Chislock ended the game with a passer rating of 38.6 out of a possible 144.
In order to make it to the postseason, Chislock’s decision making needs to improve on the field.
“We need to make sure we put him in the right situations and guys were where they needed to be, because offensively no touchdowns is not good enough,” Jones said.
