Freshman Karlee Rivera’s walk off single in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday led the Dons to a win against the Orange Coast College Pirates 4-3 in crucial conference game that put the Dons into a tie for first.
Led by Freshmen Karlee Rivera’s big day at the plate the Dons (11-7) stayed hot with yet another conference win on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the Golden West Rustlers (5-15) 13-4 in five innings.
Freshman Jeana Gonzalez had two hits and an RBI, but it wasn’t enough as the Dons (10-7) fell to the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties (14-1) in a non-conference game Friday afternoon.
Sophomore Priscilla De La Torre led the Dons to a 5-2 victory against Fullerton College in yet another important conference game giving the Dons a 2-1 record in the Orange Empire Conference.
Kasey Hutton went from a ballet dancer to becoming one of the best softball players in the state. The Santa Ana College sophomore has been playing the game since the age of seven, when her dad asked if she wanted to play softball.
