Thursday is the new Friday for college students, but finding worthwhile events in and around Orange County isn’t always easy. So leave it to us.
Every week, we’ll comb through local and regional event calendars and drop suggestions for what to do here just in time for the weekend:
Orange TasteLAB Food Tour
The three hour walk covers 1.25 miles of food tasting from new gourmet restaurants and food shops. The walk starts with a vegetarian-style breakfast followed by the option to try gourmet sausages and organic juice smoothies.district. There will also be background on the historical district.

Santa Ana College “Reduce, Reuse & Recyclers”
The Child Development Center on campus is hosting a volunteer event for Earth Day. Volunteers will be cleaning up the campus, organizing and repairing outdoor equipment and the planting areas. Helping make the environment clean is a great way to kick off Earth Day.

Earth Day Activities at the Ocean Institute
The Ocean Institute foundation is celebrating the 46th anniversary of Earth Day. At the event, people can be a part of native plant garden tours where you can purchase a plant for your own garden. The purchase of a second plant will be donated to the Institute. A special coastal clean-up at the beach and harbor start in the morning. Data DeCom Inc. will be hosting an E-Waste recycling event where people can donate old computers and cell phones. People can participate in the events, or register to volunteer.

Charles Kelley Concert
Charles Kelley will be performing his solo debut album The Driver on tour alongside others. Charles Kelley was part of the group Lady Antebellum for 10 years, but is now making his own way in the musical industry. He has come out with a few hit songs like “Lonely Girl” and “The Driver” from the album which was released in February 2016. Tickets can be purchased through ticketmaster.com.

Flying Trapeze Lesson
SwingIt Trapeze will be hosting a two hour flying trapeze lesson where you can swing from a platform to a trapeze. This is a great way to get a workout while having fun. There will be trained instructors there to help you as well as safety lines and nets that will make you feel at ease while flying on the trapeze.
