Power Outage

By: Aaron Vasquez

The Crystal Method’s newest self-titled album would have been a fitting soundtrack for Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.

But now it comes off as bloated and dated as the EDM genre. Most of the tracks are generic and bleed into each other. The song Dosimeter is the brightest spot on the record: breakbeat 8-bit synths and a powerful dubstep melody keeps it fresh and complex, unlike the rest of the album.
