For the Irvine Valley College Lasers, a good offense comes from a dominant defense.

Sophomore defender Madisen Hammonds converted two free kicks five minutes apart in the second half Friday as the visiting Lasers won 4-1 to keep the Dons winless in conference play.
Forward Kristina Alatorre tied the game 1-1 with her team-leading sixth goal before a pair of fouls in the box sent Hammonds for the penalty kicks that punctured the Dons’ hopes.
