WOMEN’s SOCCER.
Game Date: Friday, September 16, 2011.

The Dons women’s soccer team matched up evenly against visiting Santiago Canyon College until the Hawks scored three goals in seven minutes, leading to a disastrous loss in its Orange Empire Conference opener Friday.

The Hawks won the game 4-0.

SCC forward Amanda Scheatzle netted the game’s first goal thirty-three minutes into the game. Forward Valerie Barrios and midfielder Dena Wasielewski followed with goals of their own, in the thirty-sixth minute and fortieth minute respectively, after the Dons defense failed to clear the ball on two separate occasions.

“They are a great team. They are going to score good goals. We had a game plan coming into today and we executed it extremely well for 32 minutes,” Head Coach Jodi Coffman said.

Hawks’ midfielder Jennifer Martin extended the lead to a comfortable 4-0 with a fifty-second minute goal.

The Dons are now 1-5 and will host the Cypress Chargers in their next game, Tuesday.
