Thursday is the new Friday for college students, but finding worthwhile events in and around Orange County isn’t always easy. So leave it to us.

Every week, we’ll comb through local and regional event calendars and drop suggestions for what to do here  just in time for the weekend:

Fall Out Boy
The Grammy-nominated group Fall Out Boy will be performing at Irvine Meadows (formerly Verizon Wireless Amphitheater). The band released their album American Beauty/American Psycho, last year, after a five year hiatus. AWOLNATION and Pvris will open.
WHEN: Saturday, March 26, 7 p.m.
WHERE: 8808 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine
COST: $20-60

Sheep Shearing
The Santa Ana Zoo with be hosting a sheep-shearing event which will include spinning and weaving demonstrations as well as interactive stations. Sheep shearing is the process by which the woolen fleece of a sheep is cut off. The nonprofit, Locks of Love, will be there collecting hair from people willing to donate their hair.
WHEN: Saturday, March 26, 11 a.m.

COST: $7-10

Rabbit Run 5K/Egg Hunt
The Rabbit Run 5K/Egg Hunt is a twist on the common easter egg hunt. Everyone is encouraged to hunt for eggs while running, including adults the day before easter. The run has a flat course, accessible to everyone. There will be prize money for the “Fastest Rabbit”, $100 for first place and $50 for second place. During the race people can  hunt for eggs along the trail.

WHERE: Jeffrey Trail Middle School, 155 Visions, Irvine
COST: $25-35

Silverado Firefighter’s Annual Easter Pancake Breakfast
The Silverado Firefighter’s Annual Easter Pancake Breakfast is at the Silverado Community Center. There will be live bluegrass music, a children’s Easter egg hunt and a prize drawing. Breakfast will be served by Orange County Fire Authority Reserve Firefighters with orange juice, coffee, eggs and sausage.
WHEN: Sunday, March 27, 7 a.m.- noon
WHERE: Silverado Community Center, 27641 Silverado Canyon Rd., Silverado
COST: $4-6
