Hotline: Heartbreak hit

ALBUM: Coexist.
BAND: The XX.

The xx’s latest album, Coexist, is one of the best albums of the summer. Its polyphonic tones create an intricate web of love and heartbreak. The single Try is soothing with its subtle Dubstep instrumentals while vocalist Romy Madley-Croft moans about unrequited love and pain. The album’s relaxed sound makes it special, but narrows the audience. Coexist builds on the relaxed style The xx is known for.
