Santa Ana College’s Fashion Program classes, its current talented students and alumni will showcase their work with a street-wear inspired fashion show.
Many people consider art as painting, drawing, photography and dance, yet to the Fashion Department students at SAC fashion is art.
For the first time fashion instructor Kyla Benson and her Fashion Promotion and Coordination class are holding a Spring 2012 Fashion Walk at Grand Central at the Artist Village in Downtown Santa Ana.
“From nada to Prada seems to be the most adequate statement,” said Alexandro Vasquez the creative director about the debut of the Fashion Walk.
Vendors and displays will be on one side of the venue and the fashion show will take place in between the Memphis Cafe and the Gypsy Den.
The trend of going green doesn’t only apply to recycling grocery bags, cans and bottles, but also in the world of fashion. Ana Leonardi, fashion and display professor, will provide eco-friendly display forms made out of recycled fabric.
The affair is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and fashion show starts at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
