Banned For Life Based On Beliefs

When Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s racially charged comments hit the mainstream the first reaction for many was disgust. Why?

Sterling’s views are well documented and expected. In the past 10 years, he’s been involved in at least five court cases involving discrimination. His beliefs aren’t news.

Sterling’s thinking is outdated. He is an 80-year-old man from another generation. That doesn’t excuse him from consequences. What Sterling said is wrong and by banning him for life and fining him $2.5 million, the NBA reacted appropriately.
