Reboots of old films and shows are becoming a trend now and a reboot of the film The Magnificent Seven shows that Westerns are no exception.

This new The Magnificent Seven is a remake of the 1960 movie, which, in turn, was a remake of the 1954 Japanese film Seven Samurai. The film will feature Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-hun and Haley Bennett and is set to release September 23.

In the new film, the town of Rose Creek is under the violent control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue played by Peter Sarsgaard, so the townspeople hire seven outsiders to protect them. The men are outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns. As they prepare the town for violence, these seven men find themselves fighting for more than money.

The premise is similar to the 1960 film, where a group of seven gunfighters are hired to protect a small village in Mexico from a gang of bandits and their leader.

The trailer for the new movie shows there will be plenty of action. Reboots have had mixed receptions and time will tell if this new film is as great as the old one.
