In college, the weekend starts on Thursday and, thankfully, there are always new events happening in Orange County and beyond to help get you through it. Every week, we’ll comb through local and regional event calendars and drop our suggestions for what to do here, just in time for you to get started on your weekend:
L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Bike Ride and Marathon
Chinatown is hosting a 20- and 30-mile bike ride, which will be followed by a 5K and 10K the next day that participants can run or walk. Both events start and end at Chinatown Central Plaza. On-site registration begins at 6-7:30 a.m. Begin the Lunar New Year with a fun and healthy activity everyone can enjoy.

Odysseo
The Odysseo show brings equestrian arts and theatrical effects together with acrobatics and more to create one-of-a-kind big-top entertainment for everyone. With 70 horses and 45 artists, the audience will be enriched by the relationship between the horses and performers. Get your tickets early to find the best price.

Succulent Gardening Class
The OC Fair & Event Center is holding a class about gardening your very own succulent container garden. This is a fun way to learn about planting and growing the best succulents. The class is about an hour and a half to two hours long. Price includes tools, pots and plants. Registration ends Thursday, Feb. 18. Make sure to get a spot soon so you don’t miss out.
