Downtown Santa Ana will host a two-day Mexican Independence Day carnival and parade on Sept. 10 and 11.

The 38th Annual Fiestas Patrias will include food vendors, carnival rides, music and booths with cultural products. Shutting down five blocks of 4th Street and four blocks of 3rd Street, it’s one of the largest cultural events downtown hosts each year.

Traditional clothing and music reflecting individual Mexican states will be showcased during the event’s highlight, a parade on Sunday Sept. 11. The parade will go down North Main Street and will feature over 120 entries.

The free event begins at noon both days. The parade is from 4- 6 p.m. on Sunday.
